beautiful color

I don't think I have explained it on here so don't worry about asking.
My name means Life in Greek and the symbol is the chinese symbol for life. The Lotus flower is also a symbol for life.
I should post a new picture of this one - this picture is not of the finished product - the flower has a lot of colour in it.

What does it mean??? I didn't see a meaning anywhere...so please excuse me if you have already explained it like a million times, and humor me with one more!!!

The artist is Jay and his shop is Passage on Church Street, just south of Wellesley (two doors down from the Churchmouse & Firkin). He's done three for a friend of mine and I would totally recommend him.
